Policies & Procedures

Gymnastics Class Safety

Ensuring the safety of all participants in our gymnastics classes is our top priority. All students must follow the instructor's guidelines and instructions at all times. Proper attire, as outlined in our dress code, must be worn to prevent injuries. The gym area should be kept clear of personal items and hazards, with all belongings stored in designated cubby holes. Students are not allowed on the equipment without supervision. In case of any injury or accident, it should be reported to the instructor immediately. Parents or guardians must provide up-to-date emergency contact information and inform staff of any relevant medical conditions. Your cooperation is essential in maintaining a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Gymnastics Class Attire

For safety and comfort, students should adhere to the following dress code for gymnastics class. Boys and girls may wear tucked-in T-shirts and shorts or leotards for girls. No socks or shoes are allowed during class. Chewing gum is prohibited on the floor, and jewelry (except for stud earrings) is not permitted. Long hair must be secured back and kept out of the face, with no large bows or hair ornaments that could cause discomfort. Tutus and skirts are not allowed. Personal items should be stored in cubby holes, and all valuables should be left at home as our staff is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Ensure all personal belongings are marked with your student's name.

While a drinking fountain is available, we encourage students to bring their own labeled water bottle containing only clear water.

Arrival and Drop-Off Policy

To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all, please adhere to the following arrival and pick-up guidelines for gymnastics class:

  • Arrival:
Students should arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before their scheduled class time. Upon arrival, please put shoes in a cubby, use the provided wet wipes to clean the bottom of your feet, and then sanitize your hands. Children must remain in the lobby area with their caregiver until class starts. Children should not leave the lobby for any reason without their caregiver, except with explicit permission from an instructor to use the restroom.

  • Dismissal:
At the end of class, children will be dismissed from the gym and directed to meet their caregivers in the lobby. Please collect your belongings promptly and move toward the exit to allow our next classes to enter and get settled.
No child should leave the lobby without their adult caregiver present, and no child will be dismissed from the lobby to meet a guardian outside. Parents or guardians must physically come into the lobby to meet and pick up their children.

  • Pick-Up and Late Policy:
Timely pick-up is crucial. Parents and guardians should arrive no later than 5 minutes before the end of class. A late fee of $25 per every 15 minutes will be charged if you are late to pick up your child. If you expect to be late, please inform us in advance.

  • Parking:
During peak times, parking can be challenging, so please allow extra time to find a spot.

Your cooperation is essential to maintaining a safe environment for all participants. Thank you for your understanding.

Steps for Addressing Disruptive Behavior

While we strive to create a positive environment for all participants, there may be instances where a child disrupts a class and can no longer participate. In such cases, the following steps will be taken:

  1. Verbal Warning:

    • The coach will give a verbal warning to the child, explaining the disruptive behavior and the importance of following the class rules.

  2. Temporary Removal from Activity:

    • If the behavior continues, the child may be temporarily removed from the activity to sit out and reflect on their behavior.

    • The coach will explain why this step is necessary and how the child can rejoin the class.

  3. Parent/Guardian Notification:

    • If the disruptive behavior persists, the child’s parent or guardian will be notified.

    • A discussion will be held to address the behavior and find a solution to prevent future disruptions.

  4. Meeting with Management:

    • For repeated or severe disruptions, a meeting with the child, parent/guardian, coach, and management may be required.

    • The goal of the meeting will be to develop a plan to support the child in following the class expectations.

  5. Temporary Suspension:

    • If disruptive behavior continues despite these efforts, the child may be temporarily suspended from the class.

    • The suspension will be for a specified period, during which a plan for behavior improvement will be developed.

  6. Permanent Removal:

    • In extreme cases, where all other efforts have failed, the child may be permanently removed from the class to ensure the safety and well-being of other participants.

By adhering to these expectations and procedures, we can maintain a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all participants at Park Gymnastics. Thank you for your cooperation and support in helping us achieve this goal.
